Western Warrior Intersects Additional Gold from Drilling at the Wampum Prospect and Updates Ontario Exploration Programs

Calgary, Alberta (TSX Venture: WWR), June 18, 2008 - Western Warrior Resources Inc. ("Western Warrior") is pleased to provide an update from its ongoing exploration programs in Ontario. HIGHLIGHTS

  • 2.12 g/t Au over 6.34 m intersected at Wampum; up to 5.75 g/t Au over 0.55 m.
  • Pipestone project structural interpretation identifies targets for follow up.
  • Mapping and prospecting underway at Pipestone and Warclub.
  • Claim staking completed at Warclub.
  • 3,000 metre diamond drill contract secured for September.
  • Five new geologists engaged including senior staff members Rob Foy and Jerry Grant.

Pipestone Update

The project area is extensive, contains numerous historic gold occurrences and covers most of the lands between the Cameron Lake deposit in the north (Nuinsco Resources) and the Zone 17 deposit in the south (Rainy River Resources). The Project hosts numerous gold occurrences including several former mines at Bluff Point and Wampum, the current focus of work by Western Warrior at Pipestone. A structural interpretation has been completed with areas identified for follow up. Results from the last ten holes drilled at Wampum in 2008 continue to be encouraging and are interpreted to be indicative of a larger mineralized system in the area. Some of the better results are as follows. Ground crews are currently mapping and sampling in anticipation of a Fall drilling program

1 Lengths are provided as drill intersected widths only. True widths have not been determined at this time.

2Uncut assays only reported as g/t. Additional work is planned in conjunction with the regional Pipestone program to establish the strike extent of the mineralized trend at Wampum. Previously reported results from Wampum included 77.62 g Au/t from grab sample in trench TR12, 10.53 g Au/t over 3.30 m from channel C6, and 3.57 g Au/t over 3.87 m intersected length in drill hole WL07-05 (News Release 25 March 2008).

The southern portion of the Project area is under option to Rainy River Resources whose minimum expenditure commitment is CAN $500,000 for 2008. Rainy River Resources currently has a field team mapping and sampling on the option with the intent to identify targets for drilling later in the field season.

Warclub Update

At the Warclub Project, staking in the southern area to capture conductive targets interpreted from airborne electromagnetic surveys is completed. Prospecting is underway in the northern portion and has identified a magnetic "gabbroic" intrusion with coincident airborne electromagnetic response. The team of field geologists will move to Warclub later in the summer once Pipestone mapping is complete.

Personnel Additions

Geologists Rob Foy and Jerry Grant have joined the Western Warrior team. Each brings more than two decades of exploration experience to the team having worked extensively in Canada as well as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Norway and Sweden. Three junior geologists are currently implementing mapping and prospecting at Pipestone under their supervision. A critical number of technical experts have now been established to progress the WWR portfolio.

A 3,000 metre drill contract has been secured for September.

Quality Control

Drill core is logged and mineralized intervals are split on site at Nestor Falls, Ontario, with split samples being shipped to Accurassay Laboratories in Thunder Bay for sample prep and analysis. Gold is analyzed utilizing the Fire Assay method with an AA finish on a 30g sample. The drilling program was carried out under the direction of Allen Raoul, Exploration Manager for Western Warrior at that time. The information in this release was prepared under the direction of Rob Foy, P. Geo., Exploration Manager for Western Warrior, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
